I can fully recommend HP EliteBook 8570w for the use together with debian wheezy. It works completely flawless, although it needs non-free packages: firmware-iwlwifi:amd64 and (optionally if fast 3d acceleration needed) nvidia-kernel-amd64:amd64 nvidia-glx:amd64 If you want to install over wifi, make sure to have firmware-iwlwifi:amd64 on an usb stick. Otherwise, I recommend to follow the tipps on http://www.saotn.org/installing-debian-gnulinux-70-wheezy-on-hp-elitebook-8570w/ The laptop is amazingly fast and completely silent in typical operations. On heavily CPU operations (compiling big stuff) the fan starts but has an non-bothering noise. Suspend-to-mem and suspend-to-disc works fast and robust. The battery seems to last 3-4 hours. (I will do more tests there later) Full HD acceleration seems to work. Using driver vdau* Elephants Dream HD plays flawlessly with about 30% CPU (of one those 8 cores).
